New Beat Tuesdays Week 1

All A Dream by 8Bars

Every tuesday I'll be posting a new beat that I'm either working on at the moment, or just finished. Feel free to check it out and drop comments. 8 Out!

Debacle's Top 5 WWE Superstars of 2010

Honorable Mentions: Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton

5) Kane
Kane finally got his!

After finally getting  a well deserved title run with the World Heavyweight Championship (13 years!), not only did Kane keep the title from July to December but he was the longest running World champ in the last couple years and he actually won his feud with The Undertaker. Beating him 3 times in a row!

4) Sheamus
Razor's edge!!!

Sheamus started the year off as WWE Champion, which in many eyes (including myself), he did not deserve. I only say that because I don’t believe that he was as developed as he is now. Over the past year, Sheamus put Triple H on the shelf, won back the Championship, stayed a dominant force in the WWE and just won the King of the Ring. Kudos!

3) Wade Barret/ Nexus
Not quite the nWo, but good for today's WWE

Something completely new and fresh, the rookies that got zero respect joined together to form a dominant group, the Nexus, that nobody was able to stop (for 6 months). Strength in numbers, but the winner of NXT, Wade Barret, definitely deserved that win and became the leader of Nexus. Nexus would be nothing without Barret and vice versa.  He did not win any championships but he was in most of the main events from August to the end of the year. He will only get better from here.

2) The Miz
The real world never thought this would happen

Miz has a formula that seems a bit forgotten these days. Being so despised and annoying that people want to see you lose but you keep coming out on top. Miz won the Money in the Bank in July and in November, cashed it in to win the WWE Championship. He is great on the mic and his wrestling skills have actually developed quite well over the past couple years. The WWE is happy that he is doing a lot of media appearances celebrating his WWE title win. It will be interesting to see if they will let The Miz hold the WWE Championship until Wrestlemania 27.

1)  CM Punk

Yes Kids, boo the man that wears a D.A.R.E. T-shirt

It’s funny that someone who has a very positive message is considered a villain. CM Punk is straight edge. He does not put any drugs or alcohol in his body but boasts about it in a manner that makes people dislike him. “Straight edge means I’m better than you!” while a guy with a beer in his hand, boos him in the crowd. Nobody likes to be told that what they do is wrong. He also created the Straight Edge Society, a group of individuals that were “saved” by CM Punk, which recently came to an end in September. CM Punk grew a beard and became very “messiah” like. A great example of this is when, at a non-televised event, an old woman in the crowd slapped CM Punk and said “You’re not Jesus!” in which Punk replied, “I forgive you.” GOLDEN!!!  The S.E.S was very cult like, in which Punk “brainwashed” them to do his dirty work. In October, CM Punk was sidelined with an injury. He had been doing some great commentary on NXT and the decision was made to put him on RAW. Besides pointing out the obvious (which Lawler and Cole do not do) he has a lot of inside jokes in which you have to be a wrestling fan to know or understand. He definitely solidified a commentary career when the day comes for him to retire years from now. Punk has been cleared to wrestle again and it looks like he will start 2011 on a high note by feuding with the WWE’s biggest star, John Cena and literally while writing this, he became the new leader of the Nexus! Despite not winning any championships in 2010, Punk has always been an A+ wrestler, and is definitely the best heel (villain) in the WWE (Miz a very close second). Need an example? Here you go:

Jackie Boyz: Under The Radar

You may not have been able to guess this but, I am very big on hip hop & r&b. (Wait For Crickets) I'm one of those people that can have a year long argument about the absence of artistry in mainstream rap and the fact that the r&b artists from the 80's and 90's would sing circles around today's superstars. Enter the Jackie Boyz. These two brothers (not just by race) are a very talented singer/songwriter duo with the potential to go places. I first came across them while watching a video on MDL, the young producer I made an earlier post about. Now it is very easy to dismiss this article and say that this is simply my opinion, but, before you finish your thought take a listen to the video above, (if you haven't already) and then take into consideration that these two have written songs for Trey Songz, Bruno Mars, & Toni Braxton. The songwriting ability is definitely there. Oh Yeah did I for get to mention they were only between 17 and 18 when they got their first songs placed on major label projects?

Some of you may know this song already. What you probably don't know is that this was originally demoed by the Jackie Boyz and is now a fairly popular Colby O'donis' song.

The point I'm trying to make is that there are quite a few talented singer/songwriters out there that try to make their own careers in the industry and for some reason they can't seem to do it. I find this fact to be very sad especially when you find the occasional diamonds in the ruff like the Jackie Boyz. It's difficult to fathom how it's possible someone can write the songs that make it big, even sing them better than the artists that end up with the songs, and still fly under the radar. Now, maybe I'm making too of a big deal out of this. It's possible that the Jackie Boyz are quite comfortable with their current positions in the industry (although they've been trying to gain a buzz as artists for 5 years or so with no apparent industry help.) All I know is that, as an artist myself, I would be even more interested in supporting people like the Jackie Boyz, who are self creators, than these creations we get placed in front of us. I look forward to following their careers and hopefully one day they will be able to have the same success as artists as their music has already seen.

Who did it better? Lupe Vs Young Gunz Vs J. Cole & Wale

I'm starting a new weekly series here on ACB. I may even post it a few times a week, rather then just once every week. Hip-Hop though filled with original ideas is also filled with lots of the same ideas. Songs get sampled over and over and over again multiple times, with producers flipping the the same drum loop a BPM slower, or speeding up a sample instead of slowing it down, but whatever the case, songs get re-sampled all the time in hip-hop. Check down below for our first edition of who did it better.

Heath Ledger to appear in "The Dark Knight Rises"?

Comicbookmovie.com is reporting that Christopher Nolan has considered the idea of having Heath Ledger's Joker make a cameo in the next Batman film "The Dark Knight Rises" according to a movie insider. Obviously, they would have to use unreleased footage from "The Dark Knight" or some tricky CGI. This is what the movie insider has said:

"The idea is to use these fragments of cut scenes and use CGI to have The Joker appear one last time. Chris wants some continuity between movies and for the franchise to pay tribute to Heath and his portrayal of the Joker. It would only be a fleeting moment in the movie and would only be included with the full consent of Heath's family."

Originally it was said that Nolan had planned to have Ledger in the third film, prior to his death. They did keep some continuity between "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight" with the Scarecrow appearing to bridge both films. The film would at least have to mention The Joker, seeing as he terrorized Gotham City to the brink of panic. This could be seen as disrespectful but it has been done in other movies. It would only be a small cameo and one would be surprised, if there will even be any speaking parts. Ledger's family will have final say to this rumor anyways.
