2010 : The Year Of The Mixtape

A summary in this year in hip hop.....

In 2010 the mixtape scene dominated hip hop, from Wiz Khalifa dropping “Kush & Orange” juice which increased in fan base to new heights, Joe Buddens dropping “Mood Muzik 4”, & J. Cole dropping “Friday Night Lights” which was a nice follow up to “The Warn Up” his big mixtape of 2009. Then you had internet single’s that have leaked out that like Lupe Fiasco’s “Building Minds Faster” & “Super Lupe Rap”. This year the hip hop scene was dominated by mixtapes primarily, you had Emenim come out with “Recovery” which really made his fan base proud, it was a great album and made up for “Relapse” which I did not care for personally. Drake released his rookie album “Thank Me Later” which was a good album but I couldn’t categorize that as a Rap/Hip Hop album due to the way the album was taken.

Insted of trying to describe all of the mixtapes I liked this year I rather just put the videos to give you insight on some of these mixtapes if you haven't listened to them yet.

Wiz Khalifa - Kush & Orange Juice

Joe Budden - Mood Muzik 4

J. Cole - Friday Night Lights

Mac Miller - K.I.D.S

Big Sean - Finally Famous Vol.3

Wale - More About Nothing

Even though he didn't drop a mixtape this year but Lupe still was droppin heat no matter what.

Lupe Fiasco - Buldin' Minds Faster

Lupe Fiasco - Super Lupe Rap

This was a great year in hip hop, and next year it would be even better.
