December 18th, 2007. The significance of this date? It was the release date of "The Cool", the last time we've gotten an album out of Grammy award winning and critically acclaimed Chicago MC, Lupe Fiasco.
October 26th, 2010. The significance of this date? The release of Lupe's first official single in promotion for "Lasers", his first album in over 3 years, titled "The Show Goes On".
The details of the events that took place between these dates aren't 100% clear, but we do know that there was as an internal struggle between the record label and Lupe Fiasco. After a petition and the threat of a non-violent protest in front of their headquarters in New York City, the record label and Lupe Fiasco came to an agreement and Lasers is scheduled to be released on March 8th, 2011. With that announcement came soon after the release of this single, which should be on iTunes next week and on your local radio stations anytime now.
